Installing or replacing an optical disk drive

One 5-inch (slim) optical disk drive (a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive) is typically
*
pre-installed
in the DVD drive bay of the Matrox Supersight unit (located in the
center of the drive-tray).
To replace a DVD drive (or any other 5-inch (slim) optical disk drive).
1. Power down and unplug the Matrox Supersight unit from its power source.
2. Remove the chassis cover. For more information, see the Removing the chassis cover,
earlier in this chapter.
3. Unplug the DVD drive from the chassis.
4. Remove the four screws used to connect the DVD enclosure to the drive-tray.
5. Remove the four screws that attach the DVD drive to the drive tray brackets. Screw
fasteners can also be slid out from the bracket, but this is not necessary.
6. Attach the drive tray brackets to the new DVD drive.
*. Note that you can request a unit that does not have the CD/DVD drive pre-installed.
