Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology
The Intel processors use Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology (EIST) to enable
very high performance while also meeting the power-conservation needs of the
Matrox Supersight unit. The operating system dynamically adjusts processor
voltage and core frequency (CPU speed) based on the CPU's demand for
processing power. This results in decreased average power consumption and
decreased average heat production.
