76 Appendix B: Technical reference
Overview
This appendix describes the technical specifications of the Matrox Supersight unit.
There are two types of unit. They differ as follows:
Name of unit
Matrox Supersight e2
Matrox Supersight Solo
In addition to the backplane and SHB(s), the Matrox Supersight unit features the
following hardware:
• Four bays for hard disk drives. One hard disk drive is typically pre-installed per
SHB ordered with the unit.
• One bay for a 5-inch (slim) optical disk drive (typically, a CD-RW/DVD-ROM
drive is pre-installed).
• One power-supply.
Backplane
The backplane of the Matrox Supersight unit has the following specifications:
• Form factor 12 7/8" x 12 3/8" (32.8 cm x 31.4 cm).
• The backplane:
- 10 PCIe 2.0 connectors, included with the Matrox Supersight e2 unit.
- 8 or 13 PCIe connectors, included with the Matrox Supersight Solo unit.
