Connecting devices to the internal connectors of the SHB

Connecting devices to the internal
connectors of the SHB
The following devices can be connected to the internal connectors of the Matrox
Supersight SHB board: mass storage devices, memory modules, and CPU fans.
Typically, a hard disk drive, memory, and a CPU fan should already be pre-installed
and connected to each SHB purchased with your unit. Unless otherwise ordered,
your unit also includes a DVD drive, which is connected to the first SHB.

Connecting additional mass storage devices

Each SHB has three 7-pin SATA connectors; to each, you can connect a mass
storage device.
There are four bays available for 2.5" hard disk drives, and one bay for an optical
disk drive, in each Matrox Supersight unit. In addition, these bays are not all
available because, when you purchase a Matrox Supersight with one SHB, one
SATA-connected hard disk drive and one optical disk drive (CD-RW/DVD-ROM
drive) are pre-installed in your unit. Typically, each additional SHB purchased
with the unit also comes connected with its own mass storage device. If it does
not, one needs to be connected.
Important
The voltages that can be drawn from the power supply are outlined in the Power
specifications section, in Appendix B: Technical reference.
