98 Appendix B: Technical reference

LED, system reset, and power connectors

The LED, system reset, and power connectors are each 2-pin standard, right-angle,
2 mm, male connectors. Each connect to the LEDs on the chassis.
The LED, system reset, and power connectors provide the following functions:
• The power LED connector connects to a LED on the front panel. This LED
indicates whether the first
• The HDD activity LED connector connects to a LED on the front panel. This
LED indicates whether the mass storage device connected to the first SHB is active
(receiving/transmitting data).
• The system reset connector connects to the system reset button on the front panel.
The system reset button allows you to reboot the unit.
• The power button connector connects to the power button on the front panel.
The power button allows you to power-on the unit or turn off the unit.
If one or more LEDs or buttons on the chassis fail to operate, technical support
might ask you to verify that the cables are well connected.

illustration in the Establishing which boards can be installed section, in Chapter 3: Con-
necting devices to the backplane and to the Matrox Supersight SHB board).
