Erases all characters
from the cur sor to the
end of the line.

ASCII IDLE character
is substituted for each
character code erased.

when a transmit operation

two functions:

the right of the cursor

ter position to the right.

ter is then inserted at
the cursor position to
permit the entry of
the desired character.
