The timing and discrete board (figure 1-4) is a hin

ed printed

circuit
board located on the right side of the Display Terminal.
The circuits contained
on the board perform a two-fold function: internal timing, and 110 signal interface.
The internal timing circuits consist of oscillators and count
e
rs which pro-
duce timing signals for:
(1) controlling data to and from th
e
Display T
e
rminal
(1200 Hz),
(2) special functions (3 Hz and 6 Hz),
(3) gating data within the Dis-
play Terminal, and (4) providing horizontal and vertical drive pulses.
The modern interface circuits consist of two receivers and two transmitters
which amplify and level shift input and output interfacing signals.
