Power ON

1. Turn "ON" the MAIN POWER, located on the STP control unit rear panel.
2. Turn "ON" the MAIN POWER located on the STC-U front panel (refer to Figure 11). The STC-U
performs a self-test (1 sec.). During "Autotest", "POWER" LED on the front panel illuminates in
orange.
3. The "POWER" LED illuminates in green when the STP pump completes the self-test and
operates normally.
4. The heater and water-cooling valve operate so that the predetermined part of the STP pump will
reach the temperature setting. While the heater and valve are energized, the "HEATER" and
"VALVE" LEDs on the front panel of the STC-U will illuminate in green.
5. Start the STP pump. Refer to the instruction manual (C) of the STP control unit for the method
for starting STP pump.
Note : When the STP control unit is in the power off state, the STC-U detects a communication
error immediately with the STP control unit and the "POWER" LED flashes (red). When the
STP control unit enters in the power on state, the STC-U operates normally and the
"POWER" LED illuminates (green) after 10 seconds.
Note : When the STC-U enters in the power off state, the STP control unit detects "T.Cable
Disconnected" after 40 seconds and maintains abnormal state.
To reset the abnormality detection state, RESET operation of the STP control unit is required.

Power OFF

1. Turn "OFF" the MAIN POWER on the STP control unit rear panel when all three LEDs "ACCEL.",
"NORMAL" and "BRAKE" extinguish. The magnetic bearing stops, the rotor stops, and the
"POWER" LED extinguishes.
2. Turn "OFF" the MAIN POWER on the STC-U front panel (see Figure 11).
Note : When the STC-U is powered off while the STP pump is rotating, the heater and water-cooling
valve are shut off. In addition, the STP control unit detects "T. Cable Disconnected", and the
STP pump enters in the brake state.
Note : The RESET operation of "T. Cable Disconnected" is not able to perform while the STP pump
is braking. After the STP pump stops and "Levitation" is displayed on the LCD of the STP
control unit, the RESET operation enables.
