9.3 Control Registers
The following four registers control 8-bit timer/event counters 1 and 2.
• 8-bit timer mode control registers 1 and 2 (TMC1, TMC2)
• Prescaler mode registers 1 and 2 (PRM1, PRM2)
(1) 8-bit timer mode control registers 1 and 2 (TMC1, TMC2)
The TMC1 and TMC2 make the following six settings.
<1> Controls the counting for 8-bit timer counters 1 and 2 (TM1, TM2).
<2> Selects the operation mode of 8-bit timer counters 1 and 2 (TM1, TM2).
<3> Selects the discrete mode or cascade mode.
<4> Sets the state of the timer output (only for TMC2).
<5> Controls the timer or selects the active level during the PWM (free running) mode.
<6> Controls timer output.
TMC1 and TMC2 are set by a 1-bit or 8-bit memory manipulation instruction.
RESET input sets TMC1 and TMC2 to 00H.
Figures 9-2 and 9-3 show the TMC1 format and TMC2 format respectively.
