Connect the Cables to the Drive and Library

Connect the SCSI bus ribbon cable to the SCSI bus connector on the rear of the

drive. Figure 13 shows the SCSI connector on the rear of the drive and Figure 14
on page 20 shows the SCSI ribbon cable connected to Drive 1.
Note:
If you are replacing a drive, refer to the drive number you marked on
the pull tab when you disconnected the SCSI cable from the drive on
page 15. Connect this connector to the drive.
If you are installing a new drive, you may have a choice of which 68-
pin SCSI connector to use. Use whichever connector will reach the
drive you are installing without putting strain on the cable. A drive
must be installed in Drive 1 and connected before connecting any
other drive.
Connect the power cable to the power connector on the rear of the drive. See
2.
Figure 13 for the location of the power connector on the rear of the drive.
