When attached to the fiber optic cable, make sure the tethered safety cover can be placed over
the fiber connector and the cable tie is sufficiently loose to slide the tether up and down the
fiber cable.
2. Measure a distance approximately 650 mm (25.6 inches) from the end of the fiber connector
down the fiber cable.
3. At this location, create a stop point by placing one cable tie and tightening it.
4. At this same location, place a second cable tie directly beside the first one and tighten it.
To form the stop point, both cable ties should be tightened sufficiently so they cannot slide
down the fiber optic cable.
5. Make sure the tethered safety cover cannot slide past the stop point.
6. Trim all the cable ties.
7. Slide the tethered safety cover back to the connector end and place the cover over the fiber
connector and its dust cap.
