Guard
To perform low current measurement, it is important to enclose the
OUTPUT+ and SENSE+ lines with the potential of the GUARD terminal as
far as possible. This is illustrated in
such connections to improve the shielding.
The potential of the GUARD terminal is the same as the OUTPUT+ and
SENSE+ terminal voltage.
By using GUARD, there is no potential difference between the OUTPUT+
and SENSE+ lines and the GUARD line. Therefore, there will not be any
leakage current flowing from either the OUTPUT+ and SENSE+ lines. The
leakage current from the GUARD does not affect the measurement results
because it does not flow into the I
