AUDIO
Speed Dependent Volume (SDV)
The SDV system adjusts the audio system volume depending on the vehicle's speed.
As the vehicle's speed increases, the volume of the audio system also increases to
compensate for the driving noise.
Note This feature will never completely compensate for the driving noise. There are
other variable factors such as road surface, wind noise, windows open, engine speed
etc., that may alter the interior noise for any given road speed.
For this reason, there are different levels of compensation available to allow you to find
one that suits your average driving conditions best.
You can select the compensation rates between 'OFF' and 'CUR 6 (Curve)' (maximum
compensation) in the Options Menu.
To alter the SDV setting:
1. Enter the Options menu by pressing the Volume Control Dial
system is switched on.
The menu item 'AUDIO' is highlighted.
2. Turn the Volume Control Dial
3. Press the Volume Control Dial
4. Turn the Volume Control Dial
5. Press the Volume Control Dial
6. Turn the Volume Control Dial
setting.
7. Press the Volume Control Dial
8. To exit the menu, select the 'BACK' option or wait 8 seconds.
Dynamic Distortion Limiter (DDL)
Your audio system is equipped with a system that limits the amount of amplifier distortion
you can hear. When this feature is turned on, it continuously monitors the quality of
the signal to the speakers. When the signal distortion exceeds preset limits, the audio
system will automatically limit or reduce the volume until the distortion is minimised.
The system is dynamic so that it is always monitoring the sound in order to deliver the
selected volume level without distortion. Under some circumstances distortion may be
heard for a very short time until the system has taken the necessary steps to limit it.
Note The main source of distortion in music is the low frequency bass caused by drums
or large instruments. Tracks that feature very strong bass may trigger the distortion
limiting system which will then reduce the volume to minimise the distortion. Increasing
the Bass control may also result in a reduced volume level due to the emphasised
bass. If desired, the DDL can be turned off in these circumstances so that the audio
system will deliver a higher volume level. Naturally, distortion will also be increased.
You can select the distortion limiter rates between 'OFF' and 'CUR 3 (Curve)' (maximum
limiting) in the Options Menu.
