When a button on the key is pressed, it sends a signal to the vehicle. The receiver
of the signal is incorporated in the rear window shelf trim panel.
The remote control in the key has a range of approximately 10 metres. The range
is dependent on the charge state of the key battery and on ambient conditions of
the vehicle's location, the key's location and the area between them. If the key
buttons do not work, change your position to the vehicle and try again. Normally,
getting closer to the vehicle will solve the problem. Certain conditions also enable
ranges of more than 10 metres. Take care that no button is pressed unintentionally,
especially when the vehicle is out of sight.
Tinting the vehicle windows reduces the range of the key if the tinting material has
a metallic film.
e
The
button on the key will work with the key in the ignition in any position or with
the key removed from the vehicle. If any door is open when the
the horn will chirp five times as a reminder. Check all doors to ensure they are
closed securely and repeat the locking procedure.
The key buttons may not work if the vehicle is parked near strong radio activity,
such as under TV towers (most likely in high lookout car parks).
At times you may notice a decrease in range. This is normal for any remote keyless
entry system. If the transmitter does not work or if you have to stand closer to your
vehicle, try this:
Check the distance. You may be too far from your vehicle. You may need to
stand closer during rainy or snowy weather.
Check the location. Other vehicles or objects may be blocking the signal. Take
a few steps to the left or right, hold the transmitter higher, and try again.
If you are still having trouble, contact your Holden Dealer.
The key has a lithium battery inside the key head which should last approximately
three years with normal use. Refer to Replace battery in remote key in chapter 1A.
Have a flat key battery replaced by your Holden Dealer.
When, for any reason, pressing the key buttons does not work, the doors can be
locked and unlocked by turning the key in the driver's door lock.
– Turn the key towards the rear of the vehicle (once) to lock all doors.
– Turn the key towards the front of the vehicle once to unlock the driver's door,
twice to unlock all doors. As the vehicle is fitted with an alarm system, opening
the door will cause activation of the alarm after a preset period of time. If this
happens, insert the key into the ignition and turn to the ON position to shut off
the alarm.
Do not disassemble the keys.
If the vehicle is delivered with only one key, notify your Holden Dealer immediately.
Always store spare keys in a safe, dry place.
If the key is returned to you with signs of damage, contact your Holden Dealer as
soon as possible.
