Chapter 1A
DASHBOARD
Personal identity keys
When the c button is pressed on the key, the system identifies the key and sets the
headlamp time delay to the last adjustments used for that key. Refer to Personal
identity keys in chapter 2.
Fog lamps
3
Fog lamps provide a different illumination of the road to the usual headlamp beam.
Depending on the density of the fog, a different combination of lamps will improve
vision. In very heavy fog, vision may be improved by turning the headlamps off, and
just having the park lamps and fog lamps on. When the fog lamps are turned on, the
fog lamp indicator > illuminates on the instrument panel.
Note Driving speed should be reduced in fog. Check your State laws regarding use of
fog lamps when driving.
High/low beam
With the headlamps on, push the lever on
the right side of the steering column away
from you until you feel a click, then release
it. The headlamps change from low to
high beam. The high beam indicator lamp
P illuminates on the instrument panel. To
return to low beam, pull the lever towards
you.
To flash the high beam lamps, pull the
lever towards you. The lamps remain on
high beam as long as the lever is held.
Note The high beam lamps can be flashed
even if the headlamps and/or ignition are
switched off.
Turn signals
To signal a turn, push the lever on the
right side of the steering column in the
same direction you turn the steering
wheel.
To signal a lane change, push the
lever part way in the direction you
turn the steering wheel. The turn
signals will flash 3 times to indicate a
lane change. The lever returns to the
neutral position when released. To
cancel the lane change function, push
the lever in either direction.
A green arrow on the instrument panel
flashes when the lights are in operation.
Note In some turns (such as changing
lanes) the steering wheel is not turned far
enough to cancel the turn signal.
