LOCKS
kEy
This key operates all locks and ignition,
except for the glovebox. The following
buttons appear on the key.
Lock: Press the
e
the doors and to arm the alarm system.
Unlock: Press the
to unlock the doors and to disarm the
alarm system.
Refer to Door locks further on in this
chapter.
Panic/vehicle locate button
The panic/vehicle
operational when the ignition is switched
off and the key is within vehicle range.
When briefly pressing the PANIC button
once, the exterior lamps will flash and
the horn will chirp. This will help to locate
the vehicle.
In an emergency situation, press and hold
the PANIC button for at least 2 seconds.
The horn will sound and the turn signals
will flash. This will continue to happen
until the PANIC button is pressed again or
the key is placed in the ignition switch and
turned to the ON position.
Pressing buttons
Note When pressing the key buttons,
ensure that other keys on the key ring
are not between the key and the vehicle.
Other keys can obscure the signal being
transmitted to the vehicle. Refer to Notes
about the keys further on in this chapter.
