System-stopped/cold addition (for a single-chassis configuration)
System-stopped/cold addition can be performed on the CPU memory unit upper, a
PCI Express card, memory, and an internal disk in a single-chassis configuration.
Perform the following procedure to install the unit.
Figure 7-21 System-stopped/cold addition flow (for a single-chassis configuration)
1. Open rack door
2. Switch mode switch
3. Check operating condition of system and
I/O device usage status
4. Stop system
5. Enable maintenance of chassis requiring
maintenance
6. Install target FRU
7. Restore chassis requiring maintenance
8. Perform diagnosis test
9. Confirm that there is no problem with
installed FRU
10. Return mode switch to original mode
11. Start system
12. Close rack door
