3.2 Securing a Unit

Procedure
Step 1 Connect the hoisting ropes and hoist the unit to the installation area.

Precautions
Contact a professional hoisting company to evaluate the
hoisting capability and scope of the crane.
The weather condition should be good without wind when
the unit needs to be hoisted outdoors.
Ensure that the crane and steel hoisting ropes provide the
required bearing capacity.
Ensure that all doors of the unit to be hoisted are closed.
Ensure that the steel ropes are securely connected.
It is recommended that the pre-fab. modules be hoisted
from middle to sides to ensure smooth hoisting.
Do not allow any unauthorized person to enter the
hazardous areas and do not stand under the crane arm.
Ensure that the crane is properly located and avoid long-
distance hoisting.
Keep the unit stable and horizontal during hoisting, and
ensure that the diagonal gradient of the unit is within 5
degrees.
Lift and land the unit slowly to prevent shock to equipment
inside it.
Remove the steel hoisting ropes after ensuring that the unit
is placed evenly on the BM plates above the concrete
platforms.
Secure the unit you have hoisted before hoisting another
unit.

It is recommended that a crane with a lifting capacity greater than or equal to 15 t be used
for transportation.
