Multimedia Wireless Client updates

The Multimedia Wireless Client updates provide improved efficiency and
consistency, and a more user-friendly interface. Following the initial start
up screen, users see a new connecting status screen. The Home page is
the Main Screen, featuring a friendly nickname display rather than the SIP
Uniform Resource Indicator (URI). Five hyperlinks point to corresponding
feature pages
Each feature page is accessed from the side menu. Branding appears at
the top of all pages. From the main screen, users view and access two lists,
Recent and Friends. Users scroll to the hyperlinks and click to select a link
or list box. The menu option Back returns the user to the corresponding
hyperlink or list box object. To leave a list box, users select the Step Out
menu option. Users search Recent, Friends, and Contacts more quickly
using shortcut keys. Users sort logs by name or by time.
The Main Screen side menu provides cursor context-sensitive enabling
of the Select menu option. The side menu contains an option to Quit the
application rather than hide it. Another menu option provides access to the
device address book. System Settings is separate from the Preferences
configuration and can be controlled or pre-filled by Enterprises. From the
Preferences screen, users configure the number of entries to display in the
Recent list box and the number of visible entries in the Friends list box.
Users select RIM or RIMPUSH mode for updates. The context-sensitive
Help menu option is available from all pages.
Users select a Friend, Contact or Log entry and can call the entry. Users
configure their Default Call From options in Preferences, so there is no need
to do so at the time of the call. If no entry is selected, only the New Call or
New IM options appear on the menu. With the Advanced Call feature, users
select the call to and from information at the time of the call. Users add and
save multiple custom notes for presence status by pressing Enter to add
each new note, and selecting Save when finished.
