BladeCenter T Border Control Point
This feature provides a second-generation Media Portal that runs on the
IBM BladeCenter T (BCT). The IBM BladeCenter T platform executes the
Border Control Point (formerly known as the RTP Media Portal) software and
introduces an N+1 (N active and one standby server) fault tolerance strategy.
MCS 5100 Release 4.0 does not support the Motorola CPX8216-T version
of the Border Control Point.
For more information, see
CallP checkpointing support
This feature ensures that SIP messaging for calls remains synchronized,
and that essential cached data is available when a standby server must
become active. Because it remains synchronized, call information is
preserved during call failover. The feature enables the standby server to
be a hot standby.
For more information, see
CFW and DND E911 operator callback
This feature provides enhancements to the Enhanced 911 (E911) system.
When an Emergency Operator attempts a call back to a caller who dialed
911, the call is not blocked, rerouted or preempted by other calls. Therefore,
the caller who made the 911 call can be contacted directly.
The following settings are overridden during an E911 call:
•
•
•
As well as the above settings, the feature ensures that the callback has
priority if the Session Manager server is in a minor or major overload
situation.

Cold cache recovery
This feature provides cold cache recovery and subscriber loading
functionality to MCS 5100. The subscriber In-Memory Database (IMDB)
tables are loaded into memory before the Session Messenger becomes
active. The feature improves MCS system robustness and enables faster
server recovery.
