Connect the DSA8300 to a signal generator and frequency counter as shown
in the following figure:
1. Set the signal generator as follows
Frequency to 1 GHz
Amplitude to 1.0 V peak to peak
Output to on
2. Set the frequency counter as follows:
Frequency to 200 kHz
Number of digits to 9
3. Set the DSA8300 as follows:
Trigger source to TDR
Clock rate to 200 kHz
TDR Trigger mode to External (select Advance Trigger mode, and then
select External Trigger for TDR mode)
4. Enter the following GPIB command to turn the instrument cal constant
protection off:
"SYST:PROT OFF"
5. Set the calibration value to the default by entering the following GPIB
command:
"CALCOMP:DOUBLE "Internal10MHzRefFreq",
6. Measure the TDR Clock Out frequency (Reading 1).
7. Set the DSA8300 trigger mode to Internal.
8. Measure the TDR Clock Out frequency (Reading 2).
9. Enter the following GPIB command:
"Internal10MHzRefFreq",
