Apply the parking brake before beginning installation of the snow wing. Lockout the motor grader and tag it “as attachment installation in progress”.

Save the ladder mounting hardware for the ladder re-install. The sheet metal and brackets around the ladder spacer may need to be removed or trimmed.

Check that the snow wing front lift-frame, when installed, will not interfere with any mounts, clamps or other components on the motor grader frame. The factory work light mount bars may need grinding to fit the lift frame mount.

If the motor grader is not equipped with a sufficient number of hydraulic valve sections: •...
  • Page 24 2. Identify which hoses are for which hydraulic circuits (lift cylinder, lift-frame cylinder, pushpole assembly, pump, tank, load sense line). 3. Route the snow wing moldboard lift cylinder hoses from the lift cylinder to the WBM valve. See photo below.
  • Page 25 ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION 4. Connect the pushpole extension cylinder to the WBM hydraulic valve. There are two bulkheads between the valve and cylinder: one on the snow wing rear mount, and one on the rear of the motor grader. Install hoses and fittings on the bulkheads.
  • Page 26 HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION Six hoses are required to complete the hydraulic circuit from the pushpole extension cylinder to the WBM valve. There is one pair of hoses for each of the following hose paths: a. The WBM valve to the rear of the motor grader.
  • Page 27 HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION 5. Install the hydraulic relief valve on the front lift-frame mount. 6. Route hoses from the WBM hydraulic valve to the lift-frame relief valve. 7. Route hoses from the lift-frame cylinder to the relief valve. The hoses will need to go from the cylinder, through the left side of the lift-frame, and loop around the back to connect to the relief valve.
  • Page 28 The WBM hydraulic valve connects to the machine’s hydraulics in three places: the tank, the pump and the load sense line. i. Tank line: route the WBM provided hydraulic hose from the WBM valve to the factory tank line. Confirm the factory tank line is on the right side of the machine frame.
  • Page 29 PARTS, SERVICE AND INSTALLATION ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION ii. Pump line: route the WBM provided hydraulic hose from the WBM hydraulic valve to the factory pump line. Confirm the factory pump line is on the left side of the machine frame.
  • Page 30 ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION iii. Load sense line: route the load sense hydraulic hose line from the WBM valve load sense port, up the machine frame, mount the in-line flow control (needle) valve, and route to the factory load sense line.

    WBM hydraulic valve. Mount the electrical box behind the operator’s seat. There are three wiring harnesses from the electrical box, one to the WBM hydraulic valve, one to the snow wing control panel and one to supply power to the box.
  • Page 32 Route the three wiring harnesses from the electrical box: 1. Route the wiring harness from the electrical box to the valve. Route the wiring harness from the electrical box, through the cab floor, to the WBM hydraulic valve. Install a grommet in the cab floor.

The power supply will connect to pin #2. R4 WIRING HARNESS. CONNECT ELECTRICAL BOX POWER SUPPLY TO PIN #2 ON THE OPTIONAL WORK EQUIPMENT WIRING HARNESS.

    4. Check for proper clearances of components through full range of operation. 5. Install ladder on ladder spacer. 6. Re-install the work light. Use the WBM provided work light wiring harness extension to reconnect the right side work light to the factory work light wiring harness. See photo below.

    General Information WARNING General • The WBM attachment has several pinch points. Stay clear when the attachment is in operation. Correctly support the attachment before performing maintenance or inspections. • Read and understand all operating procedures before using the attachment.

    OPERATION FUNCTIONS, ANGLING THE MOLDBOARD Functions The WBM snow wing has up to three functions: angling the moldboard, raising the lift- frame, and raising the moldboard. Each function is operator controlled. Angling the Moldboard Extend and retract the pushpole to angle the moldboard away from and towards the grader.

    7. The wheels are chocked and the park brake is engaged. WARNING The WBM attachment has several pinch points. Stay clear of all possible pinch points and always support components. Failure to do so may result in property damage, serious injury or death.

    • Structural integrity of the attachment, look for excessive wear, cracking, damage: • Check all cylinders and cylinder anchor points. • Check all contact faces. • Inspect all welds and components for cracks or damage. Contact WBM for recommended welding procedures before repairing any welds. • Check all accompanying components.
