Installing Digital Service Units

Overview

WARNING: Do not apply power to the equipment at
any time during equipment installation.

1. Unpack, position, and ground the DSU Node

(page 63).
2. Connect the fiber cable to the DSU (page 64).
3. Install a DSU card (page 65).
4. Install the interface assembly on cards (page 66).
5. Program the DSU (page 79).
Next: Install any other required Service Unit (see
"Overview" on page 29). If all the Service Units are
installed, go to "Installing Phones and Peripherals" on
page 80.
Unpack, position, and ground the DSU Node
CAUTION:

ets could result in damage to the equipment or
injury.
1. Open the DSU node carton.
2. Remove the plastic bag from the top and sides of the
cabinet. Lift the DSU node out of the carton.
3. Check that the node and all attached equipment are
undamaged. Repack and return any damaged
equipment.
4. Place the node in its assigned position.
