Error cause
•
Probable bad contact in the CAN line.
Troubleshooting
•
Carry out the procedure to check PINs 66 and 80 on the Marelli control unit vehicle connector
and PINs J2 and K2 on the VCU connector . If NOT OK restore, if OK, check general oper-
ation of the Marelli control unit and the VCU control unit. In case of faults replace the
component in question.
CAN line to VCU U1740 - Signal absent/Configuration error - (Caponord 1200)
Error cause
•
No signals arrive from the EVC control unit
Troubleshooting
•
Carry out the procedure to check PINs A2 and B2 on the EVC connector and PINs 66 and
80 on the Marelli control unit vehicle connector. If NOT OK restore, if OK, with the key OFF,
disconnect: a) engine control unit connector; b) EVC control unit connector. Check continuity
between the EVC control unit A2 PIN and the Marelli control unit vehicle connector PIN 66;
Also check continuity between the EVC control unit B2 PIN and the Marelli control unit ve-
hicle connector PIN 80; If NOT OK replace the cable harness, if OK check correct power to
PIN B1/B8 (12V) and proper grounding to EVC control unit PINs C5/C6/C7. If NOT OK,
restore the cable harness; if OK, replace the EVC control unit
VCU ERRORS
Failed CAN reception from engine ECU C1300
Error cause
•
The VCU does not receive communication from the engine ECU.
Troubleshooting
•
Check continuity of the cable between VCU PIN K2 - engine ECU VEHICLE PIN 66 VEHI-
CLE and between VCU PIN J2 - engine ECU VEHICLE PIN 80. The error switches
automatically to memorised status when communication between the two control units is
restored. In any case, to exit the diagnosis status and to allow the VCU to resume operating
in normal conditions, a switch from «OFF» to «ON» is required.
