The motor does not move even when current greater than ~ 4 A passes through.
Troubleshooting
•
Check the preload motor because it is very likely mechanically locked, otherwise replace
the motor.
Preload motor command circuit open error C1621
Error cause
•
Circuit interruption detected.
Troubleshooting
•
Check the component connector and the VCU connector. Disconnect the two connectors
and check the continuity of the cable between motor PIN 1 - VCU PIN M2 VCU and between
motor PIN 2 - VCU PIN M1. If the cable harness is intact replace the motor.
Preload motor travel limits acquisition error C1701
Error cause
•
Memorisation of the preload motor travel limits absent: this occurs at the first start of the
bike or following a VCU reset.
Troubleshooting
•
Carry out the acquisition procedure using the diagnostics instrument.
Preload motor travel limits search time out error C1702
Error cause
•
Failed memorisation of the preload motor travel limits. This error occurs if, after 2 minutes
from starting the acquisition procedure, the VCU is unable to record the motor travel limits:
probable circuit interruption.
Troubleshooting
•
Check the component connector and the VCU connector. Disconnect the two connectors
and check the continuity of the cable between motor PIN 4 - VCU PIN B2 VCU and between
motor PIN 6 - VCU PIN A2. If all the above checks return a positive result replace the motor.
Preload motor connections error C1703
Error cause
•
Preload motor connections reversed.
Troubleshooting
•
Check the component connector and the VCU connector. Disconnect the component con-
nector and check that PINs 1 and 2 are insulated from each other. Also disconnect the VCU
connector and check the continuity of the cable between motor PIN 1 - VCU PIN M2 VCU
and between motor PIN 2 - VCU PIN M1.
