C.3.5
MODMIM Power–up and Test
The following instructions describe the power–up and test sequence to
verify that the modem upgrade was successful:
1.
Reconnect all the cables.
2.
Connect a terminal to the console port (port 1).
3.
Plug the MODMIM into the MMAC, apply power.
4.
Set MODMIM to Setup mode by pressing the Setup switch on the
front panel. The S/U indicator should light.
Press the Setup switch within 3 seconds of powering-up.
NOTE
5.
The MODMIM runs its ROM–resident power–up diagnostics:
All indicators light momentarily and then turn off.
The Traf indicator flashes to show that diagnostics are running.
If the diagnostics complete successfully, the Stat and Attn
indicators light. After about one minute, the ROM Monitor prompt
appears on the console terminal.
6.
Issue the config command to verify the new hardware and port
configuration.
7.
The console responds with the board configuration. Check the heading
"MODEM Config" to insure that the correct number of modem ports
were recognized (either 4 for the MODMIM-4 or 12 for the
MODEXT-8).
8.
At the monitor prompt, execute the boot command.
