C.3.6 MODEXT-4 Disassembly Instructions
The following instructions describe disassembling the MODEXT-4.
Refer to Figure C-2 for location of screws and standoffs.
Observe all antistatic precautions when handling electronic

equipment.
CAUTION
1. Remove the unit from the MMAC.
The MODEXT-4 daughter board must be removed from the
NOTE
MODMIM-4 before installing the MOD4-UG upgrade. This
involves unplugging the ribbon cable from the back of the
MODEXT-4 and then carefully unsnapping the MODEXT-4 off
of the 4 nylon standoffs by applying gentle upward pressure.
2. Remove the (2) 4-40 flathead screws and (2) 6-32 screws that secure
the stiffeners to the mother board and faceplate. You may discard the
old stiffeners.
3. Remove the (3) 6-32 mounting screws from the topside of the MIM.
These hold the faceplate on. You may discard the old faceplate.
Do not misplace the screws. You will need them to secure the

new faceplate.
C.3.7 Installation Procedure
The following instructions describe how to install the MOD4-UG
daughter card to your existing MODEXT-4. The following steps refer to
items illustrated in Figure C-3.
