Chapter 4: Troubleshooting Procedures
Confirm that the CSMIM2 boot parameters are correct by using the
appropriate ROM Monitor commands. Modify any boot parameters that
are incorrect or missing. Boot the CSMIM2 either by entering the boot
command at the console, or by pressing the Set Up switch approximately
3 seconds to generate a reset, followed by an automatic boot.
4.3.3

Load Server Host Not Responding

The CSMIM2 can boot from one of four types of hosts acting as a load
server host:
A UNIX host on the local area network.
A UNIX host at the end of a SLIP interface.
Another CSMIM2.
Any host (UNIX or non-UNIX, using tftp).
The following subsections discuss troubleshooting for each of these load
server hosts.
4.3.4

UNIX Host on the LAN

When troubleshooting a UNIX host on the LAN, make sure:
The host is booted and functioning properly.
The host can communicate with other network nodes using standard
UNIX networking features and utilities.
All CSMIM2 software is installed properly on the host. (See the
CSMIM2 Installation Notes.)
The erpcd daemon or tftp server, which loads the operational image
to the CSMIM2, is running.
ps -ef | grep erpcd
