Section 8: Using the Epilog Legend Systems

Loading Your Work

The home position of the engraving field is at the upper left corner of the table. Place
your work piece in the upper left corner, pressed firmly against the metal stops along
the top and left edges.

Operation

When you first receive your laser, load a practice piece, set the focus and close the
door. Turn on the exhaust fan. Now go into your drawing program (CorelDraw, etc.)
and set the page size to the dimensions of the practice piece you have loaded. Then
enter your name in half-inch text anywhere on the page. Once you have the image
ready to engrave, print to the machine through the Legend print driver using the
standard print command. Your drawing program should give you the opportunity to
do a print setup, where you can set the Resolution, speed and power.
REMEMBER THE STEPS:
1.
Insert the item to be engraved.
2.
Focus (or enable auto focus).
3.
Close the door.
4.
Confirm the exhaust is on.
5.
Select "JOBS" on the Legend LCD Display Panel.
6.
Press "ENTER" to show the jobs that are in the Legend print Queue.
7.
Use the scroll arrows to highlight the job you want to print. Press "ENTER".
8.
Press "ENTER" one more time to run the job you have highlighted.

Job Storage

The Legend has the capability to store multiple jobs in memory. The machine will
save any and all jobs sent until there is no free memory left. At that point, the oldest
job will be deleted automatically to make room for new jobs. To avoid losing the
oldest job, you can manually delete other jobs in memory.
