Windows NT 4.0 Installation Problem

Chapter 2 describes how to install the Harmony driver in a
computer running Windows NT 4.0. This section provides a
solution for the most common installation problem with the
Harmony 802.11b PC Card.
Problem: After installing the driver and restarting the computer,
the Harmony 802.11b PC Card's Device Status in the PC Card
icon reports "The driver installed but did not start," or "The
driver did not start."
Solution: The Harmony 802.11b driver is not properly installed
or configured. Most likely, the PC Card has a resource conflict
and is trying to use an IRQ Level or I/O Base Address that is
either already in use or not available for use by the card. By
default, the Harmony 802.11b PC Card will attempt to use IRQ 9
and I/O Base Address 0x240.
To resolve the conflict, follow these steps:
1.
Open the Windows NT Diagnostics utility in the Adminis-
trative Tools section of the Start Menu.
2.
Click the Resources tab to view the resources currently in
use by the computer.
3.
Determine what resources are available for the Harmony
802.11b PC Card.
4.
Click the Adapters tab of the Control Panel's Network
icon.
