Multi VLAN support
The figure below illustrates an example of VLAN support where a Layer 2 switch breaks the
information from multiple VLANs back in separate physical LANs.
Figure 26
Multi-VLAN Support
This feature allows you to support up to 10 Ethernet interfaces on each HL950. Each interface is
bound to one of the two physical Ethernet ports (PHYs). (These two physical Ethernet ports, eth0 and
eth1, are always present and cannot be deleted.) You can attach any or all of these virtual Ethernet
interfaces in any combination with eth0 and eth1.
The (virtual) Ethernet interfaces (eth2 through eth9) can be added or deleted by using:
HL950> add interface data ethernet:phy=0, vid=20;
Added ETH interface "eth2"
EXECUTED [0]
HL950> add interface data ethernet:phy=1, vid=30;
Added ETH interface "eth3"
EXECUTED [0]
HL950> add interface data ethernet:phy=0, vid=40;
Added ETH interface "eth4"
EXECUTED [0]
HL950> add interface data ethernet:phy=1, vid=50;
Added ETH interface "eth5"
EXECUTED [0]
HL950> add interface data ethernet:phy=0,vid=60;
Added ETH interface "eth6"
EXECUTED [0]
HL950> start interface data ethernet:if=eth6;
