Administrator's Guide
Follow the steps below to setup the system and run the initial configuration:
1. Connect the WAN using either Ethernet (port 0) or SHDSL.
2. Connect a Windows PC through the console cable to the CONSOLE port and an RJ45
Ethernet cable to Ethernet port 1.
3. Configure the PC with a fixed IP address 192.168.0.2 and make sure you don't have a
terminal emulation program started on the PC.
4. Insert the configuration CD provided in the PC. The installation program starts automatically.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
6. When the initial configuration procedure has been completed, the HL950 automatically
reboots and starts up the WAN with operator-adapted parameters.
7. After reboot, the installation program checks that the WAN is up and running.
8. The installation program then updates the HL950 with the latest software version.
9. When the initial configuration is finished, click OK in the dialog box. The installation
program windows are closed.
The HL950 is now up and running.
