Purpose
from interfering with the starting of the engine.
Location
The Flyback diode is plugged into the wiring harness
under the fuse holder in front of the engine (Fig. 448).

How It Works
you go to restart the engine, it could feed enough cur-
FlyBack diode blocks this from happening. The FlyBack
diode is located on 2009 and later TimeCutter Z (Fig.
449).
Testing

1. Unplug the diode from the harness.
2. Set your multimeter function to test diodes.
3. Touch one test probe tip to one of the terminals and
the other test probe to the other terminal. Note the
reading
4. Reverse the test probes on the terminals and note
the reading.
5. You should have continuity in one direction only.
