( ) Connect the blue wire from lug 1 of coil CX
to BS4-Fll
(8-1).
( ) Connect a 2-1/4"
green wire from lug 21
of terminal
board #1 (8-2) to BS3-R2 (8-1).
( ) Connect
the red wire from terminal
pin
F on the mixer-bandpass
circuit
board to
BS3-F9 (8-1).
NOTE: Wafers 1 and 2 of the Band switch have
12 possible lug locations and wafers 3, 4, and 5,
have 22 possible lug locations. Tomake it easier
to locate individual lugs, each lug location (hole)
will be counted, although every hole does not
have a lug. See the inset drawings on Pictorial
4-7.
( ) Connect the white wire from lug 3 of tube
socket V8 to BS2-R4 rs.i),
( ) Remove
the switch
shaft from
the Band
switch by sliding it out through hole BU in
the rear of the chassis.
( ) Connect a 1-1/4"
bare wire from lug 2 of
crystal
socket
Y7 (8-1) to BSI-F1
(8-1).
( ) Secure the final shield to the chassis with
a #6 x 3/8" sheet metal screw.
( ) Connect a 3/4"
bare wire from lug 2 of
crystal
socket
Y6 (8-1) to BS1-F2 (8-1).
( ) Secure the front portion of the Band switch
at FH. Use a control
lockwasher
and a
control nut.
( ) Connect
a 1/2"
bare wire from lug 2 of
crystal
socket
Y5 (8-1) to BS1-F3 (8-1).
. ( ) Connect
a
1/2"
bare wire from lug 2 of
crystal
socket
Y4 (8-1) to BS1-F4 (8-1).
( ) Connect
a
3/4"
bare wire from lug 2
of
crystal
socket
Y3 (8-1) to BS1-F5 (8-1).
( ) Refer to Detail 4-7A, and install the Band
switch and final shield to the chassis. Secure
the rear portion of the switch to the chassis
with the switch lockwashers
and nuts re-
moved previously.
Keep the switch in proper
alignment at all times.

CAUTION: When handling the Band switch (#63-
341), be very careful not te rotate either section
of
the switch or the shaft. It is important that
the rotors stay in proper alignment, or the Trans-
mitter will not function properly when completed.
( ) Locate the 5-section 8-position Band switch
(#63-341), and remove one lockwasher
and
one nut from each assembly
screw on the
rear
section of the switch.
Save
this hard-
ware. This will leave
a
lockwasher
and a
nut on each assembly
screw.
NOTE:
To mount the switch, position the rear
portion of the switch and final shield in place.
Then slide the 'switch shaft out of hole BU until
it is clear
of the front portion of the switch.
Position
the front portion of the switch in hole
FH
and slide the switch shaft back into place
into the front portion of the switch.

Connect the following wires to the Band switch:
NOTE: Position these wires as close as possible
to the chassis.
( ) Refer to Detail 4 -7 A, and prethread the ind-
dicated hole in the final shield with a
#6
x
3/8" sheet metal screw.
