( ) Connect
a .005 Ilfd 500 V disc capacitor
between
lugs 4 (NS) and 10 (NS) of tube
socket
VI0.
( ) Connect
a .005
Ilfd
500 V disc capacitor
between
lugs 3 (NS) and 10 (NS) of tube
socket
VlO. It may be necessary
to bend
lug 10 of V10 to miss lug 1 of terminal
strip P.
NOTE: When making connection
to the center
post of tube socket V9, position the leads straight
down into the center
post. This will make it
easier
to install
the tube bottom shield later.
All leads
and wires
around the tube sockets
V9,
VIO,.
and V11, and around all coils, should
be as short as possible.
( ) Connect
a .005 fJ.fd 500 V disc capacitor
between lug
S
(S-1) and the center post (NS)
of tube socket V9.
( ) Connect a .01
ufd
capacitor
from lug 9 of
tube socket V10 (8-4) to lug 3 of terminal
strip P (NS).
( ) Cut
one lead of an RF parasitic
choke
(#45-43)
to 1/4" and connect this lead to
lug 2 of tube socket V9 (8-1). The other lead
will be connected later.
( ) Connect
a 10
n
{brown-black-black}
r e-
sistor
between
lugs 1 (NS) and 9 (NS) of
tube socket
VlO.
( ) Cut one lead of a .005 J..Lfd 5 00 V disc capac-
itor to 1/4" and connect this lead to lug 1 of
tube socket V9 (8-2). The other lead will be
connected later.
( ) Pass
one lead
of a .005 /lfd 500 V disc
capacitor
through
lug 9 (NS) to lug 2 (8-1)
of tube socket V10. Connect the other lead
to lug 1 of tube socket
VlO
(N8).
( ) Cut one lead of a 150
n
(brown-green-brown)
resistor
to 1/4" and connect this lead to
lug 1 of tube socket V9 (NS). The other lead
will be connected later.
( ) Connect
a .005 ufd 500 V disc capacitor
between lugs 3 (S-2) and 4 (NS) of terminal
strip R.
.
( ) :Bend the remaining
lugs of tube socket V9
outward·
as shown.
( ) Bend lugs 4 and 7 of tube socket V9 against
the center post of the socket (N8).
( ) Connect
a 3300
n
(orange-orange-red)
.1.
watt resistor
from lug
8
of tube socket V9
(8-2) to lug
1
of terminal
strip
R (NS).
( ) Bend lug 7 of tube socket V7 against
the
solder
lug mounted at the tube socket (NS).
( ) Pass
a 3-3/4"
bare wire through lug 1 of
crystal
sockets Yl (S-1), Y2 (8-2), Y3 (8-2),
Y4 (8-2),
Y5 (8-3),
Y6 (8-2),
Y7 (8-2),
to Y8 (8-1).
( ) Connect a .01 fJ.fd disc capacitor
between
lugs 1
(N8)
and 3
(NS)
of terminal
strip
R.
( ) Connect
a 6800
n
(blue-gray-red)
1 watt
resistor
from lug
6
of tube socket V9 (NS)
to lug 1 of terminal
strip R (NS).
( ) Connect
a .005 Ilfd 500 V disc capacitor
between lug 8 (NS) and the center post (NS)
of tube socket V9.
( ) Twist lug 1 of crystal
sockets Yl through
Y8 45 degrees
as shown. Use care not to
break the crystal
sockets.
( ) Connect a 15
IlH
RF choke (#45-51) from
lug
5
of tube socket V9
(8-2)
to lug
5
of
terminal
strip
R
(NS).
( ) At the other end of this cable, connect the
inner wire to lug 1 (NS) and the shield to
2 (8-2)
of terminal
strip C.
( ) Connect
a .005 Ilfd 500 V disc capacitor
between lug
5 (NS)
and the center post
(NS)
of tube socket V9.
( ) At the end of the prepared
coaxial cable with
the most insulation
removed from the inner
wire, connect the inner wire to B (S-1) and
the shield to
A
(S-1) of the mixer-bandpass
circuit board.
