( ) At the end of th

prepared
cable with the
most insulation removed from the inner lead,
connect the inner lead to the BFO
(8-1)
and
the shield to the adjacent ground foil
(S-1)
of the carrier
generator
circuit
board.
Solder the shield directly to the foil
;
identify
the location by the shape of the foil. Be
sure to use pliers on the shield as a heat
sink. The other end of the cable will be
connected later.
( ) Plac

5/8" of sleeving on each lead of a
15 tJ.H choke (#45-51). Connect this choke
from
J
(S-1) to the bottom of the terminal
pin at C
(8-1)
on the mixer-bandpass circuit
board.
Wrap the choke lead around the
bottom of the terminal pin at C as shown in
Detail 4-2F.
( ) Refer to DetaiI4-2H, and prepare a 3" length
of coaxial cable as shown.
( ) Connect the red wire from hole 19 to lug 2
of coil
ex
(S-4).
( ) At the end of the prepared
cable with the
shield lead, connect the inner lead to E
(8-1)
and the shield to D
(8-1)
of the mixer-
bandpass circuit board. The other end of
the cable will be connected later.
( ) Pass one lead of a 430 pf mica capacitor
through lug 2 of coil CU
(8-3)
to lug 2 of
coil
ex
(NS). Use a 1" length of sleeving
on this lead. Connect the other lead t
o
solder lug T (8-1).
( ) Refer to DetaiI4-2G, andprepare a 3

length
of coaxial cable as shown.
