The remaining wires from B0#5 will be con-
nected later.
( ) Connect one end of a 10-1/2" yellow wire
to lug 1 of control TH (8-1). Pass the other
end of the wire through grommet HE for
connection later.
Position the wire down
against the chassis as shown.
( ) White-blue to L (S-1).
( ) Both white-brown to K (S-2).
( ) Solder the control solder lug to lug 3 of
control TH (8-1).
Connect the following wires from B0#5 to the
carrier generator circuit board:
( ) Pass the yellow wire from B0#2 through
the bottom left hole in the side of the final
amplifier enclosure and connect
it
to lug 2
of control TH (S-1).
( ) Blue to M (8-1).
( ) Black-yellow cable: inner wire to A (8-1),
shield to N (8-1).
( ) Connect one end of a
'l"
brown wire to A on
the mixer-bandpass
circuit
board (S-2).
Position the wire down against the chassis
as shown.
.
( ) Connect the white-brown wire from B0#2
to A on the mixer-bandpass
circuit board
(NS).
Connect the leads from B0#6 to the carrier
generator circuit board as follows; be sure to
use the terminal pins. The bottom side of the
terminal pins will be soldered later.
( ) Pass the gray wire from B0#2 through grom-
met HA for connection later.
( ) Black-green
cable: inner wire to F (8-1),
and the shield to G (8-1).
( ) Black-red
cable: inner wire to
J
(8-1),
and the shield to H (S-1).
NOTE: The inner insulation of the coaxial cable
melts easily. The shield should be gripped with
a pair of long-nose pliers between the connection
and the cable when soldering. This reduces the
possibility
of short circuits
in these cables.
A rubber band may be placed around the handles
of the pliers to hold them in place while soldering.
Connect the wires from B0#3 to the carrier
generator circuit board as follows:
( ) Black-white
cable:
inner
lead to lug 2
of control 'I'U (S-1) and the shield to solder
lug TT (NS). Use sleeving on the shield.
( ) Pass the end of the cable assembly with
the brown, green, and white-green
wires;
the black-white coaxial cable; and the blue
wire from BO (breakout) #2 through grom-
met HB for connection later.
( ) Blue to lug 3 of terminal strip 'l'S (NS).
( ) White-blue to lug 1 of terminal
strip TS
(N8).
NOTE: The coaxial cabl es used in the cable
assembly are either all black, or marked with
a color band or stripe.
The cables will be
identified in the steps by these colors. For
example: A "black-red
cable," means a black
cable with a red band or stripe.
Connect the remaining
wires from B0#4 as
follows:
( ) Locate the small 16-conductor cable as-
sembly and position it on the chassis as
shown.
( ) Red to C (S-1).
( ) White-red to B (8-1).
Connect the wires from BO#4 to the carrier
generator circuit board as follows:
In cases where the cable assembly wires are
longer than necessary,
position them as shown
and cut them to the required lengths, Strip 5/8"
of insulation from the wire ends that connect to
a terminal pin, and 1 /4" of insulation from all
others.
