SOLDER
( .) Shield of the black-green cable to the bare
wire between lugs6andl1 of the relay (8-1).
( ) Inner wire of the black-red cable to lug 12
(8-1). Cut off the shield lead. Do not use
aleeving,
SLIDE SLEEVING OVER WIRE
Connect the black-green and the black-red coax-
ial cables from B0#3 of the coaxial cable assem-
bly, and the black- white cable from grommet HB,
to relay AA in the following steps.
( ) White from B0#11 to lug 16 (8-1).
( ) Orange from BO#11 to lug 8 (8-1).
( ) White-gray from B0#11 to lug 3 (S-I).
( ) Green from BO#11 to lug 14 (S-I).
( ) Connect aI" bare wire between lugs 6 (8-1)
and 11 (S-1). The bare wire should be
looped as shown. Do not use sleevmg,
NOTE:
For the following steps, place 1/2"
lengths of sleeving on the end of the wires before
attaching them to the relay. The wires should
have only 1/4" of insulation removed from the
ends; if the stripped part of the wire is longer,
cut it
to
1/4". After the connection is soldered
and cooled, push the sleeving over the relay lug
as shown in Detail 4-6A. Use only enough solder
to insure a good connection. Refer to the inset
drawing on Pictorial 4-6 for relay lug numbers
and wire colors.
( ) White-brown from BO#11 to lug 10 (8-1).
( ) Connect a 1-1/2" red wire from
K
on the
mixer-bandpass circuit board (8-2) to lug 20
(8-1).
( ) Connect a 3-1/4" green wire from
H
on the
mixer-bandpass circuit board (8-1) to lug 9
(8-1). .
( ) Connect the white-orange wire from B0II10
to lug 19 (8-1).
Make the following connections to relay AA.
Bend the lugs, if necessary, so they do not
touch the chassis.
( ) Either black from B0#11 to lug 1 (8-1).
( ) other black from B0#11 to lug 5 (8-1).
( ) Gray from B0#11 to lug 2 (8-1).
NOTE:
It will be much easier to wire the relay
in the following steps if the chassis is set on the
side nearest the carrier generator circuit board.
( ) Cut ten .1/2" lengths of sleeving, They will
be used in the following steps.
