( ) Pass one lead of a 100 KQ (brown-black-
yellow) 2 watt resistor
through lug 1 of
capacitor G (NS) to lug 1 of terminal strip
H (NS). Connect the other lead of the resis-
tor to lug 2 of capacitor G (NS).
( ) Black-yellow cable: inner lead to lug 2 (S-1)
and the shield to lug 1 (8-1) of phono socket
BN.
( ) Connect a 10 Kn (brown-black-orange)
re-
sistor from lug 3 of capacitor F (8-2) to lug
1 of terminal strip E (NS).
( ) Black-violet cable: inner lead to lug 2
(S-1)
and the shield to lug 1 (8-1) of phona socket
BM.
( ) Locate the 5-conductor coaxial cable assem-
bly and position it on the chassis as shown.
The coaxial
cable
will be connected later.
( ) Blue to lug 1 of terminal
strip E (NS).
( ) White -green to lug 2 of terminal strip L (NS).
( ) Green to lug 1 of terminal
strip L (NS).
( ) Brown to lug 1 of terminal
strip P (N8).
Connect the cable assembly wires coming from
grommet HB as follows:
( ) Connect the inner lead of the coaxial cable
coming through grommet HC to lug 2 (8-1)
and the shield lead to lug 1 (S-l) of phono
socket B~.
The black-red
and black-green
coaxial cables
from B0#3 will be connected later.
Connect the coaxial cable from B0#4 as follows:
( ) Black-white
cable: inner lead to PATCH
(S-1) and shield to GND (8-1) on the carrier
generator
circuit board. Be sure to solder
the terminal pin to the foil.
The remaining black-yellow coaxial cable will
be connected later.
( ) Connect a 1-3 /4" white wire between the two
locations
J
on the carrier
generator circuit
board. Do not use terminal pins. Solder
both connections. Position this wire approxi-
mately 1/4" above the circuit
board as
shown.
( ) Solder lug 2 of capacitor F to the capacitor
mounting wafer (S-1).
( ) Connect a 100
Kn
(brown-black-yellow)
2 watt resistor from lug 1 (NS)to lug 3 (NS)
of capacitor F. Position this resistor
down
against the mounting wafer.
Connect the coaxial cables from the end of the
coaxial cable assembly having five cables (BO#l)
as follows:
( ) Black-violet
cable: inner lead to lug 1 (NS)
and the shield to lug 2 (NS) of terminal
strip D.
Connect the coaxial cable from B0#2 as follows:
( ) Black-white cable: inner lead to lug 2 (S-1)
and the shield to lug 1 (S-1) of phono
socket BB.
( ) Black-green
cable: inner lead to lug 2 of
phono socket BH (8-1), and the shield to
lug 1 (S-l) of phono socket BL.
( ) Black-red cable: inner lead to lug 2 (8-1) and
the shield to lug 1 (S-1) of phono socket BJ.
NOTE: It is very important that all wires be
placed exactly as shown on the bottom of the
chassis so the metal shields will fit properly
when installed later. Hold the shields in position
and outline them
.
with pencil on the chassis.
Refer to Pictorial
4-3 (fold-out from Page 46)
and Figures
6-21 through 6-27 at the rear
of the Manual for the positions of these shields.
( ) Connect the free end of the coaxial cable
coming from grommet HA to lug 1 of the
crystal filter (8-1).
NOTE: When connecting the shield lead of the
coaxial cables to the phono sockets on the rear
apr'on, be sure the shield lead does not touch
any lugs other than the one to which it is con-
nected.
