( ) Install this variable
capacitor
at TC
,
with
fiber shoulder washers, 6-32 x 1/4" screws,
and #6 lockwashers.
Position the shoulder
portion
of the washers
in the mounting
holes, and
the
capacitor
lugs
in
holes HH,
HJ,
and HI(.
(
) Install
the dial pulley assembly
with the
smaller
(1/4")
hole (#100-19) flush with
the end of the shaft of this variable capac-
itor. Use an 8-32
x
1/4" setscrew.
(
) Bend three
lugs
of the 3-section
var-
iable capacitor
( #26-92) as shown in the
inset drawing.
Detail 3-3G

) Install
this coil at TE, using the screw,
flat washer,
and cork washer from each
ceramic
standoff insulator.
Position
the
Wire from lug
1
through grommet
HC,
and
the other four wires through grommet
RD.
Do
not overtighten
the mounting screws.
BEND
LUG
( ) 4 -1 /2" to lug 1 (S-1 )•

) 3-1/2" to lug 2 (S-1).
( ) 3-1 /4" to lug 3 (S-1).
( ) 3" to lug 4 (S-1).

Refer to Detail 3-3G for the following steps.
NOTE:
The 3-section variable
capacitor(#26-92),
that
is installed in the next three steps
,
would be
very difficult to replace later if it is found to be
damaged. For this reason, you should now inspect
the plates of the capacitor to see that no plates
rub during rotation. Use an ohmmeter to test the
resistance between the frame and each lug of the
capacitor as you rotate the shaft. This resistance
must be infinite at each of the three lugs. Test
again after you install the capacitor in the next
three steps.
Connect one end of the following lengths of red
stranded wire to the lu
gs of this coil.
