Operation and Maintenance
The
Local output interface
Manager.
The following parameters need to be selected or entered in the Fault & Mainte-
nance Manager:
• Destination: PPP via ISDN communication protocol
• Call number of the local signal destination (the call number is not checked by
the system, if the entered call number is incorrect, the system will issue the
event message
Internal message destination is
• IP address of the PC if the communication server is to connect with the PC via an
ISDN gateway.
If the communication server is to connect with the PC without ISDN gateway,
the
IP address
entry should remain empty.
• TCP port number (default value is '1062')
• User name and password of the dial-up networking of the PC or ISDN gateway,
to gain access via the TA or the ISDN gateway to the PC.
Configuring a local signal destination on an Ethernet interface
A PC connected either directly to the Ethernet interface or to the communication
server via a LAN (LAN connection) can be configured as the local signal destination.
The event messages are displayed in PC format.

• Destination: Ethernet
• IP address of the PC
• TCP port number (default value is '1062')
SNMP destination
5 SNMP destinations can be defined. These destinations are linked with the same
event table as the local destination, and so the same rules are applied. Forwarding
to the SNMP destinations can be activated and deactivated independently of the
forwarding to the local and external signal destinations.
