If using an ambulatory administration set without a drip chamber, priming
the line might be needed. Disconnect the set from patient before priming.

Eliminating Air During Operation

When air is detected in the line, the pump gives an audible alarm, the screen
shows AIR IN LINE, and the LED indicator turns from green to red.
To eliminate air in the line during pump operation, follow these steps: -
1.
Press
seconds again to return you to the Resume/Menu option screen.

Check and resolve the cause of air detected in the line.

Disconnect the line from the patient taking care to preserve sterility.
Select 'Prime' and press

WARNING: Ensure the line is disconnected from the
patient before proceeding to the next step. Failure to do so
could result in the patient receiving a large air bolus.

Repeat steps 4 & 5 until all air is eliminated from the line and fluid is seen
at the distal end of the set.
