Pass-Through Serial Port
When the Expansion Transmitter is connected to a NIU module in an I/O
station, firmware upgrades to the NIU are performed through the Expansion
Transmitter's pass-through serial port. (If there is no Expansion Transmitter
installed, firmware upgrades are made through direct connection between the
programmer and NIU, as displayed in the first illustration as follows.) The same
serial cable, IC200CBL002, is used in both cases.
