Halloumi and vegetable skewers serves 4
• 2 medium courgettes
• 1 red pepper, cut into chunks
• 1 large red onion
• 250g halloumi cheese (cut into 16 cubes)
• 16 cherry tomatoes
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp lemon juice
• 2 tsp freshly-chopped thyme leaves
• 1 tsp Dijon mustard
• Pitta bread to serve
1. Cut the courgettes into rounds and the red onion into chunks.
Thread the vegetables and cheese onto 8 small skewers or 4
large ones.
2. Place the olive oil, lemon juice, chopped thyme leaves and
mustard into a small bowl and mix well.
3. Brush the skewers with the marinade.Place the skewers onto
the preheated grill at the medium setting. Grill until the cheese is
golden and the vegetables have softened slightly.
4. Remove the skewers from the grill before adding the pitta bread
to the grill to warm through.
Serve the skewers drizzled with the remaining marinade and the
warm pitta bread.
Grilled bananas with nutty toffee sauce serves 2
Leave the skin on the bananas to keep the flesh intact and make
them easier to move on and off the grill.
• 2 large bananas, skin on and cut in half lengthways
• 220g caster sugar
• 250ml double cream
• 60g flaked toasted almonds
• 50g chopped pistachio nuts
• Vanilla ice cream to serve
1. Add the castor sugar and 2 tbsp water to a heavy based
saucepan. Swirl the pan slowly to dissolve the sugar and heat
gently until bubbling and a golden caramel colour. This should
take about 5 minutes.
2. Remove from the heat and add the cream carefully, this will spit
slightly but will harden when added.
3. Return the pan to the heat and gently warm through, stirring to
mix the caramel into the cream.
4. Remove from the heat when smooth, add the nuts and set aside.
5. Brush the cut side of the banana with a little melted butter or oil
and place onto the preheated grill at the high setting. Do not
close the lid.
6. Sear for a couple of minutes, turn over and cook for a further 1
minute.
7. Carefully place the banana onto a warmed plate and peel off
the skin.
Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a generous serving of the
warm sauce.

FITTING OF A PLUG - U.K. AND IRELAND ONLY
This appliance must be earthed.
If the plug is not suitable for the socket outlets in your home, it can
be removed and replaced by a plug of the correct type.
If the fuse in a moulded plug needs to be changed, the fuse cover
must be refitted. The appliance must not be used without the fuse
cover fitted.
If the plug is unsuitable, it should be dismantled and removed from
the supply cord and an appropriate plug fitted as detailed. If you
remove the plug it must not be connected to a 13 amp socket and
the plug must be disposed of immediately.
If any other plug is used, a 13 amp fuse must be fitted either in the
plug or adaptor or at the distributor board.
