CALIBRATING THE LASER
1.
Clamp a 17" rim on the machine self-centring chuck.
2.
Fit a rim protector for fun fl at wheels (supplied with
the machine (1 Fig. 6.0-5).
WARNING: THE RIM PROTECTOR MUST BE
IN PERFECT CONDITION. USING WORN OR
BROKEN PROTECTORS WILL COMPROMISE
THE ACCURACY OF THE LASER CALIBRATION
AND MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE RIM.
3.
Move the front part of the tool (2 Fig. 6.0-6) towards
th plastic safety guard (1 Fig. 6.0-6), check that they
make full contact, then clamp.
N.B.:
Positioning the rim protector so that it is
entirely underneath the tool would prevent
the laser from being calibrated (Fig. 6.0-7).
4.
Loosen the screws (C and D Fig. 6.0-8) that secure
the pointer in position and then align the laser beam
with the external edge of the rim (Fig. 6.0-9).
5.
Lock the two screws securely in position.
6.
Remove the protector and the rim, then install a
different sized wheel in order to carry out a rim edge
approach check using the laser pointer. Proceed with
caution, in order to avoid undesired collisions.
If there are any discrepancies between the laser pointer
position and the desired tool descent position on the
rim, repeat the calibration procedure.
6.1 Storage
In case the machine is not to be used for a long period
of time (6 months or more) it is necessary to disconnect
all power sources, discharge the bead seater tank
(for models fi tted with the Tubeless beading System),
protect all parts that could be damaged, protect the air
hoses that may be damaged by the drying process.
When putting the machine back in operation, check
fi rst the condition of all previously protected parts, and
check for correct functioning of all devices before using
the machine again.
