Accessing a sensor/ actuator by scanning the DTM
In a configuration that is ready for operation, the DTM device can simply be added via "Scan" (button below
the "Channel" window or selection in the context menu of a channel). The selection options are limited to the
manufacturer-specific device drivers, which may simplify the selection of a type-conforming DTM.

Using an external FDT application

A separate FDT frame application can be used to integrate the "Beckhoff ComDTM" via the device catalog. A
dialog with a structure that is similar to TwinCAT can then be used for establishing a bus connection (see
also Startup: entering a target system):
