SNMP – Trap Setting
A trap manager is a management station that receives traps that are system alerts generated by the
switch. If no trap manager is defined, no traps will be issued.
Create a trap manager by entering the IP address of the station and a community string. To define
management stations as trap managers, enter the SNMP community string and select the SNMP
version.

Description
Three SNMP versions are supported: SNMP V1/SNMP V2c, and SNMP V3.
The SNMP V1/SNMP V2c agent uses a community string match for
authentication, which means SNMP servers access objects with read-only or
read/write permissions. The community default string is public/private.
SNMP V3 requires an authentication level of MD5 or DES to encrypt data to
enhance data security.
SNMP Community should be set for SNMP V1/V2c. Four (4) sets of
"Community String/Privilege" are supported. Each Community String has a
maximum of 32 characters. Leave empty to remove the Community string.
