Each press of the Left or Right arrow
key progressively decreases or in-
creases, respectively, the contrast of
the PTC-1800' s display screen.

How the clock is used depends on your application
program. For example, the PTC-1800 can use the
clock to show the date and time on its screen or to
time-stamp a file.

Display contrast

The contrast of the PTC-1800's display screen can be
increased or decreased as follows.
1. Press and hold down the Hold key.
2. Press the Left arrow key to decrease the screen's
contrast or press the Right arrow key to increase
the screen's contrast.

Incoming message alert

The PTC-1800 can be programmed to alert the user
when a telephone call or a VoiceAlert message is
being received, provided the PTC-1800 is configured
with these applications. The alert can be audible or
can be expressed by the PTC-1800's vibrator and/or
Status LED.

Telephone application

The telephone application can be programmed to use
an audible alert and/or the vibrator/LED combination.
It supports eight volume levels plus off and five ring
tones for the audible alert. When the vibrator option
is enabled, the PTC-1800 vibrates and the Status LED
blinks amber to indicate the presence of an incoming
call.

VoiceAlert application

The VoiceAlert application notifies the user of an
incoming broadcast message via an audible alert and/
or the PTC-1800's vibrator.
