Chapter 3 Configuring TN-3270/5250
If you are using the PTC-1800
outside of the U.S. or Canada, the AC
adapter can be attached to any
CEE-22-style AC cord before it is
connected to an electrical outlet.
The Status LED blinks green while
the PTC-1800' s battery pack is being
recharged and glows solid green
when it reaches a 90% charge,
except when it is being charged and
used simultaneously.

Equipment required:
A 12-VDC, 1.2-A AC adapter or a 15-VDC,
2.7-A cigarette lighter adapter
An electrical outlet or a vehicle's cigarette
lighter socket
1. Suspend the PTC-1800.
2. Connect the AC or cigarette lighter adapter to the
PTC-1800's charger jack; then plug the AC
adapter into an electrical outlet or the cigarette
lighter adapter into a vehicle's cigarette lighter
socket.
3. Charge standard battery packs for 3.5 hours (5
hours for first-time use) and extended-life battery
packs for 5.5 hours.
4. When charging is finished, disconnect the AC
adapter from the electrical outlet and the
PTC-1800 or the cigarette lighter adapter from
the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket and then
from the PTC-1800.
Via the Model 1822 charger
To charge the PTC-1800's battery pack via the Model
1822 charger, follow the instructions provided with
the charger.

Battery pack life

The PTC-1800's battery pack is rated for
approximately 500 recharges, depending on the
PTC-1800's configuration and use. At some point, it
will no longer be able to hold a full charge and will
require replacement.
