Maintaining the bridge battery
Overview
The PTC-1800 has an internal rechargeable bridge
battery that protects data in the PTC-1800's memory
when the main battery pack runs out of power or is
being replaced. While a charged battery pack is in the
PTC-1800, the bridge battery is inactive.
Recharging the bridge battery
When to charge the bridge battery
Charge the PTC-1800's bridge battery before you use
the unit for the first time, whenever the Low Bridge
icon (Appendix C) displays on the PTC-1800's screen,
and whenever the main battery pack has been left out
of the PTC-1800 for an extended period of time.
Equipment required
The following equipment is required to recharge the
PTC-1800's bridge battery:

Symbol 12-VDC, 1.2-A AC adapter
•
An electrical outlet providing 100-240 VAC.
Procedure
Follow the instructions below to recharge the
PTC-1800's bridge battery.
1. Make sure the main battery pack is properly
installed in the PTC-1800.
